Saturday Centus # 7

jennysidebar_button_SAT-2
Hello fellow Saturday Centusers. I have been posting in the past on my frugalcrunchychristy blog but I am going to move this here as the posts are more random than even I usually post over there.
How does this work? Mr. Jenny comes up with a prompt and then in 100 words or less we come up with a story. Fun fun fun! (Prompt in italics)
It was Fathers Day, 1984, when I heard that voice in the hallway.
I had just gotten home from graduation. I was changing out of my cap and gown when I heard it. That voice, from somewhere in my past, at first I couldn’t place it. Then I realized it was my brother who had left when I was young. He had been in all sorts of trouble and tough love was employed. I heard him tell my dad  “I wanted to be here, to tell her how proud I am of her.” I heard my dad reply, “Son, you know we love you but that can never happen.” Then we all cried.

Nice take on the prompt. Too bad this prodigal son wasn't welcomed.

Sounds like a memory...

Oh man. I know tough love. It is killer.

And even though this is a "story" I'm wondering at the back of my head if it is really a memory.

Random? Is writing randomly not a good thing? Gosh, I wish someone would have told me before I totally went off on my tangent! ha!

Thanks for linking.

This was wonderful.
